| The
school canteen offers a fantastic range of healthy foods and
drinks, and is open every day at recess and lunch times. Exciting
‘Meal Deals’ offers are available on alternate
weeks throughout each term and are advertised in the school
newsletter.
Right Bite Strategy
The canteen implements the South Australian
government’s ‘Right Bite’ strategy to increase
awareness and understanding of which foods and drinks are
beneficial to our bodies, and to promote healthier choices.
The ‘Right Bite’ strategy labels foods and drinks
as one of green, amber or red. Green foods are those that
should be eaten often, amber foods only sometimes and red
foods should be chosen carefully and only eaten occasionally.
The Trinity Gardens School canteen does not supply foods in
the ‘red’ category.
The canteen has an easy to read menu which
allows children to make healthy choices more easily. Foods
are clearly labelled on the menu as either amber or green.
Volunteer Involvement
Volunteer involvement in the canteen is crucial
to keep it running. Parents are asked to contribute some time
to helping in the canteen if they are able.
