| Trinity
Gardens School is located in the Eastern Plains suburb of
Trinity Gardens in metropolitan Adelaide, the capital city
of South Australia. The school was established in 1898 and
has provided over 100 years of excellence in shaping the primary
years of its students’ education. Current enrolment
across the campus is just over 400 children.
The school caters for children from four
years of age through a quality preschool program in the Early
Learning Centre to thirteen years of age in a choice of curriculum
streams. Trinity Gardens School is the only school in South
Australia to offer a unique dual stream curriculum choice
for families. It offers a Mainstream Education curriculum
and a Steiner Education Stream curriculum with classes from
Reception to Year 7. The Steiner Education Stream began in

In addition to the Early Learning Centre and Primary Education
the school caters for a small number of children with severe
and multiple disabilities in the purpose built St Morris Unit.
Special facilities of the school campus include:
- An up to date computer suite for 30 students
and computer pods strategically located amongst classrooms
and interactive whiteboards.
- A spacious Resource Centre located in
the centre of the campus thus acting as a hub of the school.
It is available for use by the whole school community.
- A Canteen offering a wide range of healthy
eating options, operates daily.
- Extensive grounds, including two full
sized ovals which are used for sporting activities and recess
and lunchtime play.
- A large hard court area with basketball
and netball rings
- Three separate playgrounds for Junior
Primary, Middle Primary and Upper Primary
- The Piazza, a community area, is currently
being redeveloped.
- A large solid brick gymnasium is due
for completion in early 2009.
- A dedicated Out of Schools Hours Care
facility offering before and after school and vacation care.
- A kitchen garden, sensory garden and
flower garden, all maintained by students.
- Air-conditioned and carpeted classrooms.
- Several sandpits for kinaesthetic learning
and creative play
- A Children’s Centre is expected
to be completed in 2010
As well as the classroom teachers and a teacher-librarian,
the school has specialist teachers in the curriculum areas
of Italian, Music, Physical Education and English as a Second
Language. Intervention programs support students with special
needs in literacy and physical coordination. Students also
have the opportunity to participate in, Bookweek, Science
Week, Charity fundraising and further extra-curricular activities
such as the Festival of Music choir and the many school sports
offered.
The school advocates a Sunsmart policy and
is an Asthma friendly school.
Student Voice is encouraged and a range of
senior student leadership positions are highly valued by students.
These include School Ambassadors, Safe Buddies, Sports Leaders
and Performing Arts Leaders.
